Costumes & Measurements

IMPORTANT: Skaters’ measurements must be added to their skaterprofile prior to registering to ensure proper costume fitting.

Once registration & skater profiles are updated by parents by February 5th, our CanSkate and STARSkate Directors, along with our coaches, work to group skaters of similar skill level together. Some adjustments may need to be made depending on costume availability and group size. Based on these groupings, the choreography/music, costumes are ordered for all ice show participants.  Costume sizing is based solely on the information that has been provided in your online skater's profile.

Please fill in ALL parts of the sizing in your skaters profile. Parents are responsible for all sizing information (we can only order costumes based on the information you provide, we cannot be responsible for incorrect information).

We will not be able to accept late registrations or changes to the sizing after February 5th.  Due to tight timelines, costumes are ordered immediately after the registration cut-off.  Also please note that exchanges/returns are not available. There are no extra costumes ordered; we only order exact numbers and sizes required per group.

The type/make of costume varies depending on the groups.  Typically, a Halloween type costume is provided as we are trying to get costumes for a wide range of ages and sizes.  Please note that in some cases we may need to order a size up to what clothing size was given, based on measurements and manufacturer recommended sizes.

It is also important to note that only a portion of the $75 ice show fee covers the cost of the costumes.  This fee also covers the cost of the ice time for practice, coaching fees for practice, music, decorations and any other misc items related to running the ice show.

  • Click “Confirm and Register” if you are not registering for any other programs and follow the instructions for payment.

  • Remember if your StarSkater wishes to be in the opening or closing, they must register for each ice show number separately. These numbers are all optional and are for certain levels only. Please refer to the information outlined in this information letter to ensure you are registering for the correct number(s).

Important Notes:

  • You will be prevented from registering in an ice show category your skater is not eligible for.
  • Registration will open, Wednesday, January 22, 2017. Registration will close February 5th, as we will be grouping the children and ordering costumes early February. We will not accept late registrations. If you are unfamiliar with measuring, you can drop by the skating office during our skating sessions and we can assist you!

The deadline for registering for the ice show is February 5th. It is important that we receive all registration and sizing information by the deadline so that we can order the costumes on time. If you do not register online, we can only assume that you are NOT participating in the ice show. After this date it will be too late to add a skater to a group or to order a costume.
