Gold Tests
Congratulations to Suzannah Healey and Alyssa Gaulton for passing various GOLD tests this season. The GOLD test level is the highest a skater can achieve in the StarSkate disciplines of Freeskate, Interpretive and Skills.
Suzannah passed her GOLD Freeskate, her GOLD Interpretive and her GOLD Skills.
Alyssa passed her GOLD Interpretive.
A great achievement for both skaters!!
Ice Show
We held our 34th annual ice show, on Sunday March 28th. It was a great success, with approximately 100 skaters participating. Thank you to all the volunteers for all the time and effort you put into making the ice show possible. Thank you to all the coaches for putting together the fantastic choreography for all the group numbers. Thank you to the PAs for your assistance with the CanSkate groups. Winter Games
The figure skating events for the NL Winter Games were held March 21st & 22nd in Grand Falls. Two skaters from our club were a part of the nine skater team representing the Avalon Zone. Congratulations to them!

Winterfest:
As part of the Town of CBS's Winterfest activities, our club put on an exhibition on Sunday, February 7th. Our StarSkaters showcased some of their routines that they have been working hard on this season. All the skaters performed wonderfully, making it an enjoyable show. They should all be very proud of themselves.
Winter Games Run-offs
Avalon Zone Winter Games Run-offs were held Sunday, January 24th in Clarenville. Congratulations to Heather Strother for making the Avalon Zone team! Heather joins Kaitlyn Dawe, who had already qualified for the team. They are part of a nine skater team that will represent the Avalon Zone at the NL Winter Games in March.
Athlete of the Week
Kaitlyn Dawe was named Athlete of the Week, by The Evening Telegram, for the week of January 9th to 15th, 2010. Congratulations Kaitlyn!
Avalon Regionals
Avalon Regionals was hosted January 9th & 10th by the Prince of Wales skating club. Our club had 29 skaters compete in 20 different categories, with 18 medals being won.
