Test Days

CanSkate & PowerSkate

Testing for CanSkaters & PowerSkaters will be done during the last two weeks of each session on the regularly schedules skating days. There are ne fees for these tests.

StarSkate

At Skate Canada Test Days skaters are tested for any of the StarSkate or CompetitiveSkate disciplines at any level, provided a qualified Skate Canada Evaluator or Judge is available for the test level. Once a skater passes their test they then move to the next level in that discipline. If the test is not successful the skater can retry on that same test day or wait until the next test day. Retrying the test the same day is up to the discretion of the Judge or Evaluator, and if time permits in the schedule of the test day. Skaters usually wait until the next scheduled test day before retrying a test, as waiting gives the skater more time to improve on the comments given by the Judge or Evaluator, and it better prepares the skater for the next level.

Test days can be held at our club or at any club in the Avalon Region. Skaters must be at the stadium at least a 1/2 hour before their test is scheduled. Female skaters usually wear a skating dress and tights to their tests, male skaters wear something tidy (ie: dress pants and a dress shirt or even track pants and a turtleneck).

In addition to the test fees below, every skater participating in a test day must also pay one-$2 Officials Development fee.
