Information about Skating Fees
The fees paid to the club for the CanSkate sessions will include the coaching fees.
The fees for StarSkate sessions only covers the ice rental. On these sessions skaters must arrange directly with their professional coach the number of lessons they will receive, and the payment for those lessons goes directly to the professional coach.
Fees for professional coaches range from $20 - $36 per hour, depending on their
coaching level, coaching experience, and personal skating level.
Information regarding private lessons:
- Private lessons are usually 10-15 minutes long, but may vary from day to day
- Lessons can be given in a private or semi-private format, therefore fees are split amongst the skaters in the lesson (ex: $24/hr coaching fee, 15min lesson for 2 skaters => $6/2 = $3 per skater)
- Parents and skaters should talk to their professional coach to arrange the number of lessons they want per week. TIP: If you have a budget you do not want to exceed per week or month discuss this with your coach so they can arrange time accordingly.
- There are coaching fees for competitions also, discuss this with your coach for exact amounts.
- Don't be afraid to discuss you childs progress, lesson time, fees, competitions, etc with your coach, they are there to help.
